With the publication of this issue, the third in a row, we mark the second year since the creation of Balkan Hip Hop Studies, International Journal of Hip Hop and Urban Culture.
Several papers and reviews by authors from several regional countries are published in this issue. Most papers emphasize national and sociological textual aspects of hip hop, which is refreshing because hip hop is mostly problematized from a sociological or musical aspect rather than a textual one. In the third issue, one can get acquainted with the hip hop of the Macedonian (Slavcho Koviloski and Suzi Teneva), the Serbian (Dragan Đorđević), and the Montenegrin national scene (Stefan Strugar), as well as the BLACK LIVES MATTER movement from the Croatian point of view (Tatjana Vukelić). The links between hip hop and graffiti are strong (Branko Prlja), and the basics of hip hop as a subculture are elaborated, too (Aleksandar Koviloski). For the first time, in BHHS, we publish two reviews (Elena Prendjova and Aleksandar Kacarski).
Indeed, this third edition includes many aspects of hip hop – artistic, sociological, and national, so we hope it will raise the readers' interest in various scientific and art fields.
